Everything You've Ever Done

is the author of Everything You've Ever Done--A Memoir of Unconditional Love and Spiritual Discovery. She was inspired to share the story of her husband's illness and death to spark conversations around death and dying.

Amelia says, "My whole life--since my mom died when I was 7--I've wanted to talk about death, to share my experiences, to ask questions. Even at that young age, I was aware of how awkward and uneasy people were when they learned of my loss. My husband, Dave, was diagnosed with a terminal illness when we were in our thirties. He lived over a year past that diagnosis, and we had the time of our lives. Dave didn't fear death and we had a blast sending him off. Despite that, caring for Dave through his illness and death was super hard, and resources and support were thin. After he died, I knew I wanted to offer some way to support those in circumstances like mine."

And so she offers her and Dave's story. May we share death; may we be supported in our grief.

And also may we have some choice in how we die, may we open conversations around death and dying so that our wishes are known.
